Hello World!

Welcome to the life and chronicles of My Jersey Boys and me, B (the only girl who hangs out with them). Our original mission was to prove that not all of Jersey is obsessed with GTL. Now it's kind of become the place where we share our random thoughts, ridiculous stories, regular quote updates, and maybe a picture or video here and there. There's always something going on...

Love from,
The one and only,

TIME TO RAGE!!!

Posted by The one and only "B"... on 11:26 AM in , , , , , , ,
Hello world...

Today my feathers have been ruffled. I've had enough with the government. ENOUGH I SAY!

This blog post may be called "TIME TO RAGE!!!", but I've been saving my rage. I've been stocking it up until the government actually takes away my rights before I completely lose my mind. I commend the people who have been protesting against SOPA and PIPA. Which, if you read my post about Occupy Wall Street, you probably already know that I'm not a big fan of protesters. For this issue though, I'll make an exception. I'm signing the petitions against it, and fully intend on calling my representatives and giving them a piece of my mind.

I'm usually not a big fan of Anonymous, but I have to say, their response to the shutdown of Megaupload was impressive. If you haven't heard of what they accomplished, no worries. I found this article on Google+, and figured I'd share it with all of you:

The Internet Strikes Back #OpMegaupload

The Department of Justice announced Thursday that it has conducted a major action to shut down MegaUpload, a popular file-sharing site widely used for free downloads of movies and television shows.Within minutes of the site being shut down, and DOJ releasing its statement, Anonymous sprang into action and started taking down a ton of sites -- including websites for the DOJ, the US Copyright Office, Universal Music, the RIAA, the MPAA and a bunch of other sites.

Department of Justice (Justice.gov)
Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA.org)
Universal Music (UniversalMusic.com)
Belgian Anti-Piracy Federation (Anti-piracy.be/nl/)
Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA.org)
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI.gov)
HADOPI law site (HADOPI.fr)
U.S. Copyright Office (Copyright.gov)
Universal Music France (UniversalMusic.fr)
Senator Christopher Dodd (ChrisDodd.com)
Vivendi France (Vivendi.fr)
The White House (Whitehouse.gov)
BMI (BMI.com)
Warner Music Group (WMG.com)

Anonymous launches largest attack ever, crippling government and music industry sites. Hacktivists with the collective Anonymous are waging an attack on the website for the White House after successfully breaking the sites for the Department of Justice, Universal Music Group, RIAA and Motion Picture Association of America.

Many members of Congress have just changed their stance on the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, the raid on Megaupload Thursday proved that the feds don’t need SOPA or its sister legislation, PIPA, in order to pose a blow to the Web.

And now... I'll share a few cool pictures I've found... I sure hope they aren't copyrighted. God forbid we share anything we find online with the rest of the world...

And finally, a note from my favorite pirate, T:
"Yo why is it that the government is acting like England from pirates 3. How dare they ruin pirating for me. I will drink their blood and eat their still pulsating heart."

I'm not sure if it's an actual threat... You never quite know with T... But the combination of the two of us being enraged over something is quite dangerous.

Love from,
STOP SOPA AND PIPA BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!
(And if it becomes too late... prepare for a revolution...)
B
