Hello World!

Welcome to the life and chronicles of My Jersey Boys and me, B (the only girl who hangs out with them). Our original mission was to prove that not all of Jersey is obsessed with GTL. Now it's kind of become the place where we share our random thoughts, ridiculous stories, regular quote updates, and maybe a picture or video here and there. There's always something going on...

Love from,
The one and only,

The Mono Curse

Posted by The one and only "B"... on 4:19 PM
Hello world...

Back in high school, my best friend Kelsey and I were terrified of catching mono. We refused to share drinks, lip glosses, or anything that touched our lips with anyone. We were militant about this. If anyone would make the mistake of drinking out of our soda, or borrow our Chapstick, we'd either throw them away, or let the person keep it. Most people thought we were completely crazy, but we knew that once you've had mono, it never leaves your system. Plus, you end up missing at least a month of school because of it.

In the middle of senior year, I moved to Holmdel, and the first friend I made was with a girl who was just returning to school after she had been infected with... Of course... Mono. I jokingly called her Mono baby, but then discovered that many of my new friends had had mono recently.

Great, I just started a new school, and everyone is contaminated with the one illness I'm positively terrified of getting.

Somehow, I managed to avoid getting contaminated with the mono curse. I do believe most of my jersey boys managed to avoid getting sick as well.

Until now...

Just when I thought I had nothing to fear... That my days of possibly getting contaminated with the mono curse were far behind me.... J sends me a text.

He doesn't have strep throat, as we originally thought... He has mono.

Fuck my life.

Love from,
I'm definitely contaminated now...

My Jersey Boys are back...

Posted by The one and only "B"... on 12:00 AM
Hello World!

I said I would be posting more, and I am following through with that promise today. Things have definitely changed since my first post back in October of 2010... I think that's part of why I put the blog on the backburner. There are two people in particular that used to be a big part of our blog, that not only don't participate on the blog now, but aren't even really in our lives anymore. While it's always disappointing to lose close friends, life goes on, and so have we.

Now, three years later, a lot has changed for us. Everyone has now graduated from school, and are seeking jobs and new apartments. While T has finished med school, and is soon to start his residency, he still screams insanity... which I really need to start taking notes of, because it's been awhile since I've updated our twitter account with quotes. D has just finished grad school, and returned home to search for a job. By the way, congratulations D, for finding a job! Compared to most people, the time you spent job hunting was very short. D is still the voice of reason, often listening to me and offering his advice. Although a few years ago his advice was based on how to deal with being friend zoned, these days his advice is basically telling me if I am being unreasonable or not. Which, unless I just feel like ranting, is exactly what I want to hear. R is still the master of videogames, comic book lore, and all around a great friend. Currently we are in the process of starting a gaming channel with J. Title of the series is pending. J is still playing with his band, and essentially making us realize we know little about music theory... Or making me feel the need to practice guitar more often. He's also the best boyfriend ever. C is, and probably always will be, the life of the party. Or the person most likely to know where a party is. While we don't see C as often as we used to, he still graces us with his presence when he deems it worthy. A actually has probably changed the most, going from the most obnoxious person we all know, to a much more tolerable person... Unless he's around me, then J starts to ask us not to please stop fighting with each other. G is starting to make his way into "the inner circle", as he called it. The more often he's around, the more likely you will hear stories with him in it. As for me, I honestly don't think I've changed that much. I think it's harder to evaluate yourself as far as how much you have changed. Mainly because I don't think we are necessarily aware that change is even happening.

Here's a gist of what's gone on in the past year:

Starting with New Year's, we continued the tradition of celebrating it in D's basement. There was a lot of hugging involved... and a lot of rough-housing:

D flew home from Chicago with Deep Dish pizza for us. He said he got a lot of weird looks from people on the plane:

For a few months the boys started a bowling night once a week. This is a picture of R showing off his skills:

D, R, J and I attended WrestleMania! We froze our butt's off in the process:

J was attacked by small children. They discovered his weakness, being tickled... I have no idea where they discovered this information... ahem:

The 2013 Dessert Championship was held, and Ice Cream was the winner for the second time.
(The 2012 champion was Pumpkin Pie, something that couldn't be mentioned without my disgruntled response. It was quickly shot down in the first round by Pecan Pie, and I could not be happier):

And T took one of the best photo's I have ever taken, and made it into the most American photo I've ever seen... (America! Fuck yeah!):

Well, that's it for now. I can assure you though, there will be more posts here in the near future.

Love from,
I'm pretty sure there are good stories to tell from this past year that I need to remember....

Pulling a "G"

Posted by The one and only "B"... on 2:18 PM
Hello world!

So you might be wondering why the title of this blog post is called "Pulling a 'G'". My Jersey boys and I have developed a saying for when we say we are going to do something, or go somewhere, and we either don't show up, or show up for a short period of time and leave suddenly. We call it "Pulling a 'G'", and the reason for that saying is our friend, who's codename on the blog is "G".

For years our friend G has had the tendency of saying he'd meet us somewhere, and typically not showing up. It's kind of a running joke amongst our group of friends, that I am 95% sure he's aware of. The point of my explaining this is because lately with the blog, I've been pulling a G. I keep saying I'm going to write more... and then months pass and I haven't posted anything. Not because I have nothing to post, I have tons of stories backed up in my mind, as well as pictures and videos. Unfortunately, I only have limited access to a computer since my laptop exploded on me a year ago. Yes, it actually exploded. That's just the kind of luck I have.

Recently though, our friend G has been making appearances regularly. Making our trademark saying for him a thing of the past. Now on a semi-regular basis, he asks me about the blog. He has commented frequently on how he's enjoyed reading our stories, and was even happy that in my last post, he received a brief mention. He's asked me a few times if I planned on writing more, and I assured him that I would at some point.

I figured it would only be appropriate that in my first post back, I mentioned G, because he is directly responsible for: A) making me realize I had put the blog on the backburner, and B) making me feel guilty enough to go back to it. G had said that this blog is a great place for us to permanently save our memories. For us to look back on moments throughout the years, moments that maybe would have been forgotten had we not written about it... I'm paraphrasing what he said a little bit, but essentially that was the point.

So G, thank you for reminding me of why I loved this blog so much. I promise that from now on, I will keep the blog regularly updated. Starting right now...

Love From,
It's time to sift through some old memories from this past year...
